Dr. Scharine attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison for his undergraduate studies, where he graduated with a major in molecular biology. After doing medical research for a couple years, he then attended dental school at Marquette University in Milwaukee. After graduating from dental school in 1982, Dr. Scharine opened his dental practice in Fremont.

To continue to provide his patients with the latest in dental treatments and technology, Dr. Scharine attends numerous advanced continuing education courses. He recently completed advanced training in Implant Prosthetics and Soft Tissue Grafting.

Dr. Scharine is also a member in good standing in the following professional organizations:

• American Dental Association
• Wisconsin Dental Association
• Academy of General Dentistry
• American Academy of Orthodontics for the General Practitioner
• Waupaca County Dental Association – Past President
• Christian Dental Society – Past President

Dr. Scharine is also very involved in the community and is a trustee on the Fremont Village board.

Dr. Scharine and is wife, Bonny, have two daughters.

In 1999 Dr. Scharine was introduced to the Christian Dental Society, and was very encouraged by the mission work many of the dentists were doing. In 2000 the Scharine family went on their first mission trip and were hooked. Dr. Scharine and Bonny continue to go on mission trips and see them as a means to share Christ, as well as much needed dental services to local residents. Dr. Scharine is excited to now be training indigenous people to do extractions if they have the proper equipment. He sees it as an opportunity for them to serve their fellow man as well as share the love of Christ.

When not doing dentistry Dr. Scharine enjoys boating, snowboarding, and anything that involves near-death encounters!
