Dental sealants are an excellent tool to use in the prevention of tooth decay in children. Sealants fill in the crevices of a tooth, forming a barrier that protects against cavity causing bacteria.

When the use of sealants are accompanied by an oral health regimen that includes regular dental exams and cleanings, fluoride, healthy diet and good at-home dental care, we can greatly reduce and/or prevent the number of cavities experienced by children.

Although sealants are generally used on children, they can also be affective for adults.
